Organisational Overview

The Armidale Diocesan Central Council (ADCC) is the body that oversees all the activities, functions and operations of the St Vincent de Paul Society within the Armidale Diocese and seeks to ensure that our community services and support operations are delivered effectively and in accordance with the mission of the St Vincent de Paul Society, NSW. The Armidale Diocesan Central Council extends over a vast area incorporating the regional hubs of Armidale, lnverell, Moree, Gunnedah and Tamworth , providing services and support to the Armidale Diocese. The main services include welfare provision, youth programs , 20 retail stores, and a range of other special works.

About the Role

The Logistics Coordinator will supervise a small team of workers in a busy distribution centre.  The role is primarily responsible for overseeing the logistical requirements that include but are not limited to:

  • sorting of goods and filling of bags and bales for sale;
  • transportation of stock between retail shops, recycling and distribution facilities;
  • planning the collection and delivery run of trucks and vans based on needs of the business and as directed by the Retail & Production Manager;
  • housekeeping and compliance with Work Health and Safety standards in all aspects of operations.

Conditions of Employment

The conditions of employment are governed by the National Employment Standards.  The hourly rate range from $24.61 to $25.64.

What you need

  • Ability to sort clothing and other donated items for retail sales and recycling purposes
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Physically capable in lifting and carrying items in a safe and WHS compliant manner
  • Proven customer service and organisational skills
  • Current Forklift Licence

Pre-employment Checks 

Prior to an offer of employment, preferred candidates will be required to complete the pre-employment checks that include two (2) reference checks, a Health Declaration and National Criminal History Check. You will also be required to present evidence of right to work in Australia.
