The St Vincent de Paul Society is a leading provider of community support services and has been assisting people experiencing disadvantage in NSW for more than 130 years.  About the Service

Vinnies shops raise the funds needed to help those less fortunate in our community. They also provide immediate relief to those in most need. With a current network of almost 70 shops and 6 warehouses, we cover a large geographical area from the Sutherland Shire in the South, to the Central Coast in the North, as well as from Bondi Beach in the East, to the Liverpool area in the West.

 The Role

The Logistics Manager will co-ordinate the pick-up, processing and delivery of stock, to and from our stores, donors, customers and warehouses. The successful candidate will not only have a wealth of warehousing and transport experience, but they will be able to engage with an extremely diverse stakeholder group. A proven record within a growing organisation, of increasing production and productivity whilst minimising costs, will be an advantage.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategically plan and manage the logistics program for Vinnies shops and welfare.
  • Build consistencies into operations across all Distribution Centres and Transport.
  • Use industry knowledge to continuously improve productivity.
  • Financial management of P&L to fall within budget.
  • Work in a co-operative style with all staff, volunteers and members of the Society.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications or demonstrated significant experience of working in warehousing and transport at either a Retail Store or Distribution Centre
  • Proven ability to lead, train & motivate teams of 100+ employees
  • Knowledge of WHS regulations & legislation
  • Integrity and ethical conduct
  • Exceptional planning & communication skills
  • Capacity to commit to the ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society
  • Current MR truck and LF forklift license
